Tate are delighted to be working in partnership with a local authority in Bristol City Centre, to recruit an Employee Engagement and Communication Consultant on a temporary basis! This position will be mainly remote based however you will need to be able to attend meetings in Bristol City Centre on a regular basis.

This is an exciting role requiring you to have previous experience within communications and employee engagement, and we are looking for someone who can bring a fresh mindset and can do attitude to this large local authority.

Essential Requirements

• A degree or relevant equivalent industry or vocational qualification, and/or substantial experience of working in a communications or employee engagement role.
• Experience and understanding of a variety of innovative tools and techniques that can be used to change attitudes, perceptions and behaviours, including experience of using digital channels.
• Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to write concisely, accurately and in an engaging way for a variety of audiences: Being able to create, edit, proof and present information effectively in different formats.
• Practical skill in developing and delivering integrated communications and employee engagement strategies to meet project outcomes and timescales.
• Confident working under pressure, to deadlines and while managing multiple projects simultaneously; with a track record of delivering on time.
• Ability to offer communications and employee engagement advice to officers at all levels, including having confidence to negotiate and liaise with senior managers. Credible champion of communication activity that adds value, with the ability to assess and influence where and how this is delivered.
• Finding solutions to meet business and reputational requirements whilst providing excellent service to clients. Good problem-solving skills, including working within limited budgets and timeframes.
• To work effectively as part of a team whilst also being able to work independently and make confident decisions.
• Proven ability to critically research, monitor and evaluate communication and employee engagement activity in order to seek continual improvement in the service provided to clients.
• Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience of equality and diversity issues.
• Have a working knowledge of Microsoft office applications or equivalent including the following: email (outlook or equivalent), word processing (word or equivalent), spreadsheets (excel or equivalent) using the internet (internet explorer or equivalent) Have a willingness to learn new applications and technology as appropriate.

Desirable Requirements

• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Marketing or the Chartered Institute of Public Relations or other recognised organisation.
• An understanding of political sensitivities and experience of partnership working.
• Experience and/or understanding of formal market research techniques and/or statistical interpretation and analysis.

POSITION SUMMARY

The (Associate) Lecturer will be required to teach and conduct classes in disciplines relevant to their field of expertise and assist in the academic and administrative, consultative and coordination tasks involved with these courses. Functions associated with the position include presentation of lectures and tutorials, assessment of students and course administration in line with the University’s quality assurance requirements. The Associate Lecturer is also required to undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy. It is expected that the (Associate) Lecturer will work under support and guidance to develop expertise in teaching and research with an increasing degree of autonomy.

The (Associate) Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the University, in disciplines related to their field of expertise. Specifically, the (Associate) Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. The (Associate) Lecturer is also expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links, and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. The (Associate) Lecturer is expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation. The (Associate) Lecturer may be responsible for course coordination.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

1. PhD or equivalent relevant Doctoral qualification from a recognised institution.

2. For Associate Lecturer: A Master degree in the relevant discipline; have commenced or enrolled to commence in Doctoral course is preferred.

3. Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at the undergraduate level, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high-quality curriculum or program materials.

4. Proven proficiency in 2D and 3D Animation, and two or more of the following:

✓ Digital video production

✓ Visual effects & colour grading

✓ 3D motion graphics

✓ Concept art and previsualisation

5. Ability to undertake course coordination role.

6. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and negotiate sensitively with students, especially on issues related to effective learning.

7. For lecturer:

✓ Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links.

✓ Demonstrated ability to supervise higher-degree research candidates.

✓ Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.

8. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

9. Recent and sustained performance regarding student outcomes, student experience and feedback; combined with experience and skill in a range of teaching settings.

10. Ability to operate within own discipline and cross-disciplinary/multidisciplinary teams to achieve department and University strategic outcomes.

11. Ability to work with external partners, industries, organisations and communities and can operate effectively to address complex issues or seek opportunities.

12. Ability to motivate, develop and inspire others through discipline leadership in the University environment.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS 7.0 (academic, with no skill less than 6.5) (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines). 
For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.

WORK PERMIT

As an expatriate candidate, you will require a work permit to work in Vietnam. To qualify for a work permit you will need (at minimum) a degree in a relevant field to the position and must be able to provide official written confirmation (statement of service) of at least 3 years’ related experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under supervision of the School Manager and Dean of School, the Executive Assistant is responsible for providing essential support through diary management, managing correspondence and documentation, drafting letters and standard communications; ensuring that correspondence and presentations are of a high standard; and assisting the Dean of School to ensure that actions arising from correspondence and meetings are completed in a timely and appropriate manner.

The Executive Assistant also provides support to designated members of the College and School Executive leadership teams, as well as the Industry School Advisory Board members upon request. The incumbent will contribute to other tasks that also include local/national/international teleconference and meeting coordination, committee servicing and minute taking, event organisation, travel bookings as well as responding to email and phone enquiries for the Dean of School.

The nature of the position requires regular contact with different sectors within the University and is the first point of contact for people wishing to communicate with the Dean of School. It also requires interactions with external agencies, corporations, government officials and staff in other education institutions, as well as broadly across the university globally.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide professional support services, including:

a) diary management which encompasses all arrangements associated with organising internal and external meetings for the DoS and work diary and travel arrangements domestically and internationally;

b) preparing/drafting and/or responding to correspondence through emails, letters, memos, reports and presentation materials including routine correspondence, speech notes;

c) managing all incoming and outgoing correspondence, using the TRIM or other management systems, and;

d) preparing/organising briefing material relating to the DoS’ appointments and meetings, including supporting the preparation and production of meeting papers.

• Assist the School Manager, School of Communication & Design in managing the operations of the Office of SCD, including collaborating with the Academic Administrative Officers for invoicing and reimbursements, correspondence, meetings, managing corporate seal signings, keep records of all sealed documents, and other administrative tasks as required.
• Assist in preparing for events involving the DoS such as College and School Executive meetings, Town Halls, Industry Functions, exhibitions and showcases Executive planning sessions and other School-focused events, including catering, speech notes, presentation slides and briefing papers.
• Coordinate travel, itineraries, etc., for senior executive visitors as required, including arrangement of itinerary and logistics.
• Support HR administration activities including recruitment and onboarding activities including assisting in organising meetings as part
• Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders (Senior Executives, Executive Dean, Industry Advisory Board, etc.) appropriately to deliver support to the Office of SCD.
• Manage and track correspondence and documentation for the DoS and Office of SCD ensuring that actions arising from correspondence and meetings to be completed in a timely and appropriate manner; use judgement to determine level of urgency, ensure the DoS or other relevant senior staff are made aware of matters that require their action. Follow up as required.
• Collaborate with other Executive Assistants to members of the Vietnam Senior Leadership Team and Academic Administrative Executive Officers in the School, including providing mentoring and advice when requested. Provide back up support for the other areas in the Office of SCD when necessary.
• Undertake other duties as directed and required.

Key Selection Criteria

• Tertiary qualifications in relevant fields. Relevant post graduate qualification is desired.
• Executive support experience in excess of 5 years to CEO/Senior Executive roles is preferred.
• Experience in providing high-level secretarial and administrative support in a university environment or similar large and complex organisation and covering diary and travel management, correspondence, action management, document development and information management.
• Demonstrated high level cross-cultural and communication skills, in both written and spoken English and Vietnamese.
• Well-developed organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills and, the proven ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of management, staff and external parties on complex, sensitive and confidential issues, including the ability to draft correspondence of a high standard to internal and external stakeholders.
• Well-developed problem-solving skills, with the ability to take the initiative in identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve existing practices and services.
• Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of groups, both internal and external to the University.
• Demonstrated superior knowledge and experience in using computer software such as Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
