Brief Summary
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Human Resource General Manager will lead the HR operations and develop manpower strategies to meet the overall company business goals.
The incumbent will be responsible for the full spectrum of HR functions and influence the overall organization to achieve efficient operations.
Responsibilities
· Ensure effective delivery of the full spectrum of HR functions
· Supervise and responsible for subordinate work
· Spontaneously work on hands-on tasks including but not limited to the followings:
- Manage the employee life cycle and administer employee payroll, benefits, on-boarding and off-boarding arrangements.
- Manage performance issues and employee relations including grievances, absence monitoring and disciplinary actions.
- Responsible for training, development, and orientation.
- Administer work pass (EP, SP, DP) application, renewal and cancellation.
- Prepare and administer HR relevant letters/documents (i.e. employment contracts, confirmation, promotion, employment certificate, etc).
- Review and continuously improve HR policies, processes, and procedures to ensure their relevance in supporting the company and in the regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with government authorities and agencies on employee related matters.
· Initiate and facilitate succession planning/strategies
· Implement career development plan and promotion guidelines
· Benchmark the compensation time to time and ensure it remains competitive within the market
· Review existing HR functions to increase overall efficiency, service quality and processes
· Review compensation, bonus, and performance management policies
· Plan and conduct in-house trainings without engaging external training providers
· Lead and participate in HR projects that may arise within the company or in collaboration with group companies
· Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement and create a positive work environment
· Conduct townhall meetings
· Plan and conduct employee engagement activities including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities
· Consult and advise management and staff on labor relation issues and enquiries and resolve disciplinary and grievance issues
· Report to and consult with the Chief Administrative Officer in a timely and efficient manner
· Communicate with the management, the department heads, and other employees in the efficient manner.
· Communicate closely with relevant teams/employees in Mitsubishi Corporation (including communication in Japanese) regarding HR matters including but not limited to HR policies and operations, based on in-depth understanding over Mitsubishi Corporation group policies.
· Prepare the management reports, manpower forecast and perform any other ad-hoc management activities both in English and Japanese.
Requirements
· At least 20 years relevant experience and have managed an HR team
· Degree or Post-graduate Diploma in any field, with preference for candidates who specialize in HR Management
· Experience working in commodity trading companies (Oil/Gas preferred)
· Well versed in employment legislations and labor relations in Singapore (and other countries)
· Experience in leading HR strategy planning (compensation benchmark, career development plan etc)
· Willing to work operational matters on hands on basis
· Experience conducting in-house trainings without external training provider
· Experience in working under international environment/multi-national company
· Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to motivate, develop and direct people, and serve as a link between the management and employees
· Strong preference for proficiency in both English and Japanese (written and verbal communication in Japanese with internal and external stakeholder will be required)
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills
· Excellent capability in using/revising Excel, PowerPoint, Word-file materials
· Possess confidence to lead change initiatives for a fast business environment
